5 out of 5 starsBeing the barkcloth fiend that I am, when I saw this piece, I had to have it. It is beautiful. No fading, no stains, no holes. What will I do with it??? Maybe have pillows made??? It came carefully wrapped and sealed. Not too much packaging, but just enough. It’s just perfect.
Lindsay Curren, responded on Mar 15, 2024
Dear Cheryl, Thank you for the nice review! I am so glad such a great piece went to such a devoted barkcloth lover! Warmly, Lady Virginia

Frequently asked questions
What are your shipping policies?
We ship in the US and all over the world.
In the US, we ship free over $35 w/in one day and we EXCLUSIVELY use USPS Ground Advantage. This is a tiny bit slower (maybe by one day), but it's the only way a small boutique shop like ours can offer free shipping all over the US. Thanks for understanding!
What if I choose "upgrade" to USPS Priority?
If you need your fabric or gift faster, and you choose "upgrade" to USPS Priority, you MUST PAY FOR THE UPGRADE in order for us to honor it or it will ship USPS Ground Advantage. Other paid upgrades for shipping includes 1-day, 2-day, and more and we'll get your order out in time.
What about internationally?
We ship using Etsy's Global Postal International unless otherwise requested.
Do you send swatches?
Because all our fabric is antique and vintage, we have very limited, sharply measured quantities. It is extremely rare that we would have enough extra fabric beyond our listed yardage in order to send a swatch. You can always ask, but the chances are low on most pieces.
Where do I find how much yardage you have of a piece?
Unfortunately Etsy makes shopping for luxury and rare fabric very difficult when the price is over $19 per yard. Etsy does NOT display the quantity of the yardage in this circumstance and thus shoppers write in to me all the time asking how much yardage is available. To immediately see the yardage of a piece click "add to cart" and then visit your cart to see the remaining yardage. You can also message me for the answer to any yardage question. I hope Etsy will fix this terrible problem at some point.
Are sale and coupon items returnable?
Whenever I hold sales, or when a coupon is used, that renders the item "final sale" even when Etsy's presets say it is returnable. They don't have a tech solution for switching this during sales/coupons. However, if there is a problem with your order, do contact us first to see what we can do to help. We pride ourselves on superior customer service.
Are there exceptions to your return policy?
Yes. Please be aware that while my shop says all things are returnable, there are actually exceptions to this that Etsy's tools are not flexible enough to allow me to display for you.
Any and all cut yardage is final sale and is not returnable under any circumstances. Rare and luxury fabrics have greater value in larger quantities for customers to make larger projects. When fabric is cut away, it reduces that possibility. Thus all cut fabric is final sale. However, if there is a problem with your order, do contact us first to see what we can do to help. We pride ourselves on superior customer service.
How must you receive returns for my refund?
You must first contact me to make sure the item is returnable. Cut yardage and coupon/sale items are non-returnable. However, if there is a problem with your order, do contact us first to see what we can do to help. We pride ourselves on superior customer service.
All fabric must be clean, unused, freshly ironed, and repackaged in clean tissue paper and wrapped in plastic just as it was sent.
Returns are mailed at your expense and must include both tracking and insurance for the full value of the piece.
Refunds or exchanges will be honored after we inspect the piece in our showroom workroom.
Can I shop in person?
Yes!
Our private showroom in Staunton, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley is open by appointment only. We have over 5,000 pieces in store and it's a great town to visit with lots of arts, festivals, foodie restaurants, and B & Bs.
We do occasionally have Open Houses, or are open for other Staunton city-wide events. But if you just want to "swing by" the best thing to do is call or text first to make sure I'll be there. Visit my website at ladyvirginiavintage.com to learn about my showroom and join my email list.
My email list offers pre-sale coupons and exclusive subscriber benefits for my Etsy shop, and announcements about in-store events, as well as educational and entertaining blog posts about vintage fabric and textiles history.
